Week 4

Week 4 was when our class discussion was focused on the man shooting the elephant. He shot the elephant because of the pressure of the crowd, not because he wanted to. But he was also justified by shooting it, due to the fact that the elephant killed someone. But we are all influenced by peer pressure whether or not we want to face it.

Week 5

During our week 5 class we discussed the boundaries of torture and how far we would be willing to go to extract information out of a terrorist. Personally I would go all the way to waterboarding. I think that there are also many false confessions though, those laws need to be changed to help protect the minor in that situation. But these laws are important because the law must be able to apply pressure to get crucial information.

Week 3

During our week 3 class we did a group activity about 9/11 and a common myth surrounding it. I think the most useful thing i learned during this week was the difference between a credible and non credible source. I also worked on my paper which helped me improve my writing.

Week 2

During week 2 class i learned about POW openings and about how to really write a paper. I also learned how to open a paper and to keep the audience interested. I also learned that how you are taught to write in high school is not how you should be writing at all, once i learned this i have started to write better. I have always been a bad writer but now I feel like I am a little better and I hope to continue to improve.

Week 1

The first week when I went into Comp 2 I experienced an unusual feeling. Immediately she told us all to take out our cell phones and turn them on. After this she brought up a page on her computer called Polleverywhere. This is a tool that lets you send a text message and respond instantly to a question during a discussion. I think that Polleverywhere is one of the most useful websites i have learned about.
